8ft x 4ft Slate Billiard | Pool | Snooker TableEarly Stamp No A 846In excellent original conditionThis wonderful Antique Solid Oak 8x4 snooker dining table sits on a solid hand made Oak frame and has four hand carved round legs, The table has a one piece fitted slate with solid Brass pocket plates, leather pocket covers and string pockets, all in near original condition it is around 105 years old, the cloth to bed and cushions are in excellent order and all the cushions have good bounce, it has 5 original table leaves in solid oak all Fantastic and the table is in near original condition.It comes with Boxed Set Snooker Balls, 2 Riley Cues, 1 Rest,Box of Chalks, Triangle, Brush, Boxed Billiard Balls and a Set of Pool ballsThe table is in excellent order throughout and has a wonderful oak grain and patina, it sits on a well constructed solid oak base, this has the original solid brass rise and fall system in place with 2 lifting handles at each end of table, when in lower position this is for dining and raised up is for playing. These smaller tables sold readily and were date stamped on frame A56420 etc
By 1910 it was decided that the company should manufacture its own tables in its own workshops, stamped A for Accrington, cricked bats,and other sports equipment was also being made at this time. By 1918, the company were now making around 800 full- sized billiard tables per year, in addition to these, 800 convertible billiard and dining tables were being made and 4,000 portable smaller tables were also sold each year.
These convertible dining tables were of excellent quality and were very well made using the best quality materials available.
