Steps that will be needed when working in customers homes

No work will be carried out in a household which is isolating because one or more family members has symptoms or where an individual has been advised to shield.

When working in a household where somebody is clinically vulnerable, but has not been asked to shield, for example, the home of someone over 70, prior arrangements can be made with any vulnerable people to avoid face-to-face contact, for example, staying updated with the latest guidance and considering how this can be applied to our work.

This will include:

Washing hands more often than usual for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose.

Reducing the spread of germs wearing a mask, protective clothing, keep 2m distance, wash hands and not to be in the same room together when work is being carried out.

Cleaning regularly touched objects and surfaces using cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing an infection on and to reduce the touching of objects and surfaces where possible.

Communicating with households prior to any visit to discuss how the work will be carried out to minimise risk for all parties, example windows and door to open for air circulation.

Maintaining social distancing guidelines (2m, or 1m with risk mitigation where 2m is not viable) as far as possible.
